Albuera Street Primary School is a community of learners where we are all valued and safe.

Albuera St Primary School is situated at the western end of Battery Point within five to ten minutes walking distance from the centre of the city, the University of Tasmania and the Sandy Bay commercial centre. It is a small, inner city primary school with an enrolment that remains constant at around 200 students. Our school community is quite diverse. The student population is derived from the local Battery Point/Sandy Bay area and also includes a significant proportion of students from greater Hobart whose parents choose the school because of its good reputation and proximity to the city. We are fortunate to have students from many different cultural and language backgrounds.

We aim for all students to participate in and enjoy a broad, balanced curriculum and to achieve their personal best. Our community values positive student achievement in the key areas of literacy and numeracy as well as the range of specialist programs we offer. These include art, music, physical education, French, drama and strings.

In addition to our academic curriculum, we value and promote a sense of belonging to our community, social skills, collaborative learning and civics and citizenship.
